Posted on February 28, 2017 at 6:10 AM Comments comments (0)

Hello Fishermen and Women,

Its the last day in February and we had a great 2016 season and with the 2017 season around the corner we just wanted to give you a heads up on what the current outlook is. In the past 2 weeks Raritan Bay has been boiling up with bunker and tons of bird activity. The water is over 40 degrees and weather has been improving. With crazy March ahead we have no idea what could happen, its March ha ha.  I seen some pictures posted 2 days ago by Midland Bait and Tackle that stirpers have been caught already , so it seems they are hanging around, that the good news, the bad news is that the season to keep the fish don't start until April 15th.

We are looking forward to the upcoming season, feel free to email us pics here or to our facebook page. We had tons of activity on the facebook page last year and the weekly reports were a great asset. Keep us informed with what is going on.

Check out some of our new sponsors , they have great suff.  Tog Candy Jigs,  East Coast Nets, Custom Rodz and a few more and will be adding to them as they sign up.

Have a great day

Fishing Report Update

The striped bass are still running strong and anglers on the boats been doing very well around the Statue of Liberty to just passed the Verazzano Bridge to the Islands. They have been getting up to and over 40 pounder's consistently. The baits are Bunker either chunks or live lining both have worked well. Off the Piers One on Bay Street which is in New York harbor have been doing well with Striped Bass and what they call Gator Blue Fish. The Midland Beach fishing pier to South Beach have being doing very well and mostly at night , The Gator blue fish are bigger sizes from 15lbs and up to 20lbs which give a good fight. Bunker chunks are the favorite also chrome shiney jigs.

New York State Fluke Season started May 17th and the fluke are all over, they Kayak fisherman do very well because of the great drift they get and also they can get to places that are to shallow for boats and surf fisherman can't access because of structures. They boats also have been doing very well with many keepers over 18inch. They catch with bucktails, gulps, peanut bunker, squid or live Killies, they all do well.

The Fluke season has begun as of the 17th, many keepers from Tottenville to South Beach nice show on the fluke so far.. The Kayakers I have seen do very well picking up nice size fluke. The Striped Bass have been showing up around the VZ Bridge and around the islands heading out of the rivers. They have been getting them on chunks and live lining. Now the monster blue fish are everywhere and causing havoc , but they do give a nice fight. The Bay Street area is doing very well for striped Bass arounf the old ez pass building, just choose a spot.

Don't forget your take limits, especially if you post a picture of your catch.

Bass Bluefish and Bait

Posted on May 7, 2016 at 5:45 AM Comments comments (0)

Bluefish are hitting heavy everywhere around Staten Island, Conference guys have been sending Pics and also guys from Bay Street so end to end tearing up everything from bunker to hitting the boats chunking and trolling.

Striped Bass still hitting good and many reports are coming from Oakwood to South Beach Piers and Surf. The conference house for surf has always been a favorite because its right in the opening of the Kill.  Still hitting on spoons and all colored stretches on the troll. But they are picky in different area's on different days if they are going after chunks or live lines...

The area's of West Bank, Arthur Kill, Perth Amboy, Off the South Beach Islands,  have been doing very well for Bass.   As for bluefish, well they are all over, just stick a line in .

May first Scup (Porgy) opened up and next week May 13th Fluke is opening up.

Good luck to you and please send in your pics and reports to share

Well, we have heard of blue fish biting around Staten Island, we are waiting for some pictures to be sent in. Also, Bunker have been spotted in Raritan Bay so that is a good sign. Water temps have been in the mid 40's. Tomorrow it is supposed to snow, I  guess one last smack from winter then hopefully we should be good.

This weekend is the somerset saltwater fishing event , I can not make it due to work and some events I have .

As this season is coming closer to a start in Staten Island , I know many are excited to get out there and get the lines in the water already.

Don't be shy to send us some pics and information, it will be helpful and we will give you full credit.

Have a great weekend.
